There are certain activities, foods and bad habits which could potentially damage some part of your braces. With a few basic lifestyle changes and a diligent, effective oral hygiene routine, you can keep this amount of time to the bare minimum.

When Schouten Orthodontics installed your braces, you a piece of special orthodontic wax. If a loose bracket, band, or broken wire is poking into your cheek or gums, you should try to secure it inside the orthodontic wax. If you don’t have the wax handy, you can improvise with a pencil eraser.
